TORONTO, CANADA – The Strong Cities Network and the City of Toronto are excited to announce that Toronto will be the host city for the Sixth Global Summit from December 9 to 11, 2025. This landmark event will bring together mayors, local government officials, civil society organizations, national and provincial governments, and practitioners from around the globe to catalyze city-led action to fight rising hate and polarization, and foster stronger, more resilient and inclusive cities.

In a time of rising global tensions and crises, traditional international cooperation mechanisms are under significant strain. City-to-city cooperation is vital to bridging divides, fostering trust, and maintaining crucial cross-border dialogue. The Sixth Global Summit will serve as a platform to share bold ideas, innovative strategies, and evidence-based solutions aimed at catalysing globally cooperation to build resilient communities and advance human rights-based approaches to community safety.

As the culminating event of Strong Cities’ 10th anniversary year, the Summit will celebrate a decade of empowering local leaders and catalyzing city-led solutions to prevent and respond to hate, extremism, and polarization. Participants will engage in high-level plenaries, interactive workshops and tabletop exercises, and targeted networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and inspire impactful city-led solutions.
