A global network of cities dedicated to addressing all forms of hate, extremism and polarisation

Unlocking the potential of city-led action

10 for 10 Coalition

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Strong Cities Network. From 25 founding members in 2015 to a growing global network of 270+ cities, the Strong Cities mission of catalysing city-to-city learning, collaboration and the exchange of innovative approaches and best practices for enhancing public safety and building social cohesion at the local level has never been more urgent.

Join the 10 for 10 Coalition to raise EUR 10 million to support and catalyse the city-city learning and city-led action needed to address the rising hate and deepening polarisation eroding social cohesion.

Our Approach

Strong Cities supports cities through a variety of modalities to not only address a complex and evolving threat environment, but to fulfill their potential as leadership in prevention

Convening

Strong Cities brings together mayors, local officials, youth, civil society, national governments, multilateral bodies and the private sector to share experiences, good practices and challenges.

Regional Hubs

Regional Hubs facilitate increased sharing of experiences, good practices and challenges, through workshops, briefings, webinars, and maintaining an active ‘help desk’ to provide targeted support to address individual cities’ questions, challenges and needs.

Targeted Training & Capacity-Building

Supporting cities and relevant stakeholders to improve and develop local approaches that take account of good practices internationally and which can be tailored to local contexts.

Digital Resource Hub

A living, open resource for disseminating online training tools, local policies and good practices, including profiles and spotlights of approaches across member cities, accessible through the Strong Cities website.

Monitoring & Evaluation

Strong Cities has a dedicated Monitoring & Evaluation function enabling the Management Unit to assess impact against key indicators, adjust methods and engagement accordingly, improve efficacy of the Network, and ensure we are addressing city needs and priorities.

Partnerships & Collaboration

Strong Cities prioritises partnerships and opportunities to collaborate with national governments, multilateral bodies, including the UN and regional and sub-regional entities, and relevant global, regional and country-specific city networks.
