Seventh Global Summit

Strong Cities Network
Seventh Global Summit

From 26 — 28 January 2027, Strong Cities will host its Seventh Global Summit in Rabat (Kingdom of Morocco).

Join mayors, city leaders, practitioners and international partners for three days of dialogue, collaboration and practical action to build safer, more inclusive and resilient cities.

About the Summit

Shaping Inclusive, Safer, Future-Ready Cities

This year’s Summit, co-hosted by the City of Rabat, will bring together more than 300 participants, including mayors, governors, municipal leaders, national government representatives, international organisations, civil society and private-sector partners from over 70 countries.

Under the theme Shaping Inclusive, Safer, Future-Ready Cities, the Summit will provide a platform to exchange practical solutions, strengthen partnerships and advance city-led approaches that promote social cohesion, strengthen community resilience, foster economic inclusion and deliver lasting local impact.

Four Themes Shaping the Summit

The Seventh Global Summit will explore a wide range of challenges affecting cities and their communities, guided by four overarching themes. Across all four themes, the Summit will also examine how cities can responsibly use artificial intelligence and other technology to address local challenges, strengthen prevention efforts and improve outcomes for their communities.

Together in Rabat

Since joining the Strong Cities Network in 2023, Rabat has played an important role in the Network’s engagement across the Middle East and North Africa. Strong Cities launched its MENA Regional Hub in Rabat to strengthen regional cooperation, facilitate city-to-city exchange and support locally led approaches to prevention. Fatiha El Moudni, Mayor of Rabat, serves as Co-Chair of the Network’s International Steering Committee, helping guide its strategic direction.

Rabat has also been instrumental in expanding the Network’s presence in Morocco and strengthening its engagement with Moroccan cities and national partners. This collaboration has supported youth engagement, locally led prevention initiatives, national–local dialogues and practical approaches to preventing hate and extremism and building more cohesive communities.

Building on this longstanding collaboration, Rabat announced its intention to host the Seventh Global Summit at the Sixth Global Summit. The Summit will provide an opportunity to showcase Morocco’s local experiences, strengthen regional and international partnerships and bring city leaders from around the world together in Rabat.
