This annotated list of resources was designed to complement the training modules provided through the Strong Cities Network’s project Developing Multi-Actor Frameworks in Small and Mid-Sized Cities in the United States. It contains research, practical tools, examples, and lists of resources (e.g. funding, training, etc.) to help users deepen their understanding and implement programming related to preventing hate and targeted violence at the local level. The resources cover topics related to the targeted violence landscape, the public health approach to prevention, effective multi-actor coordination, community engagement, and models for city-led primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention. This document serves as a key resource for city officials, practitioners, and community stakeholders seeking to implement or enhance local prevention efforts in a coordinated, sustainable, and cohesive manner.

The views expressed do not necessarily reflect those of the Strong Cities Network membership in its entirety nor of Strong Cities donors or other partners. Strong Cities is not endorsing and cannot vouch for the efficacy of any particular resource or approach – we merely want to provide a listing of available resources to facilitate information exchange.
