SCN Local Innovation Grants – Call for Proposals for the Western Balkans

The Strong Cities Network (SCN) is pleased to announce an opportunity for the award of a Local Innovation Grant for a community-based organisation to implement new projects and activities aimed at preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) at the local level across the Western Balkans.

SCN Local Innovation Grants are aimed at providing support to civil society organisations, and are intended to strengthen partnerships between communities and local government to develop inclusive and collaborative projects and activities to strengthen community resilience and social cohesion against violent extremism. The innovation grants aim to support specific prevention initiatives driven by local civil society actors (such as local youth, women, religious and community leaders and NGOs), as well as to support the broader capacity of those stakeholders to undertake such work.

Find out more about the Local Innovations Grants and how to apply for them here. You can find the budget template for your application here.

The deadline for applications is 23:00 GMT on 18 December 2017. Applications must be in English and should be submitted to Ms. Rafia Bhulai at [email protected].

    Dear,
We are interested to know the following:
    – is it needed to be transboundary proposal and the last one to be elaborated jointly? (e.i: Albania – Montenegro; Albania – Kosovo etc)
    – if yes, should we apply for the same ceiling budget (12,500$) for both CSOs or each CSO can have its budget?
Thank you in advance for clarification

      Dear Djana,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. It is not necessary for the proposal to include work in more than one country. We expect proposals for projects that work locally, most likely in one city or area in either Albania, BiH, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro or Serbia. If your organisation happens to work in different countries, or you would like to work together with another CSO, that is permissible but not a requirement.

At this time, we will be awarding one Local Innovation Grant, so if you want to apply together with another organisation, you should apply as part of a joint project proposal with an overall budget ceiling of USD $12,500.

Should you have additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]/en

      Kind regards,
      The Strong Cities Network team
