SCN Local Innovation Grants – award announcement

SCN Local Innovation Grant

Following an open call for expressions of interest and after full consideration of more than 50 applications received prior to the deadline, we are very pleased to announce the award of our first Local Innovation Grant for East and West Africa to HAKI Africa.

A civil society-led organisation based in Mombasa, Kenya, HAKI Africa works at grassroots levels in Kenyan communities to improve livelihoods and enhance the progressive realisation of human rights. With the SCN Local Innovation Grant, HAKI Africa will strengthen collaboration and cooperation between Mombasa County Government, the National Government and CSOs on the design of a joint implementation of the Mombasa County CVE Action Plan. We wish to congratulate the team at HAKI Africa for their outstanding proposal of work, and look forward to working together on an exciting project making a real difference to communities in Kenya. You can find out more about the work of HAKI Africa on their website.

We would like to thank all applicants, members and partners for the overwhelming response to our first Local Innovation Grant. Highly commended project proposals have been circulated by the SCN with a recommendation to regional partners and embassies. We continue to support innovative programming across all our member cities, working in close partnership with our colleagues at the Global Center for Cooperative Security.
